Before her son became a global superstar, she was simply a young Canadian woman trying to survive a deeply troubled childhood. She experienced devastating loss at an early age, endured years of abuse, and struggled with destructive behavior during her teenage years. By her mid-teens, her life had taken a frightening turn, including substance use, stealing, and being expelled from school after setting a fire.<\/p>\n

Yet her story would become even darker. As she later revealed in her memoir, the abuse she experienced as a child continued for years. By the time she was a teenager, experiences that should have been unimaginable had begun to feel frighteningly familiar to her.<\/p>\n

Despite everything, she always had a passion for music and performing. She appeared on local television programs as a child and dreamed of a life connected to the arts. But behind that creative side was a young woman struggling with overwhelming emotional pain.<\/p>\n

The two eventually started seeing each other again, and not long afterward, she discovered she was pregnant.<\/p>\n

On March 1, 1994, her son was born in Ontario.<\/p>\n
